The Centennial Inn operates with daily with 4 different shifts. 1 person can work multiple shifts as some of them overlap a little. We try to make things as flexible as possible while still meeting the requirements of the work needing to be completed. The Centennial Inn/Gerrit Kollen House have up to 4 apartments available for workers (typically 1-2 are filled with staff).
House Keeping
Clean available rooms after guests check out, following a checklist while also using good judgment to spot and address anything that needs attention. Please reliably show up on your assigned days, you can switch shifts with others when needed. The Inn is known for immaculately clean rooms, and we need people who take pride in maintaining that standard.
| Time Period | 2-6 hours per shift depending on how busy the Inn is. Work is typically between 10am and 3pm. |
| Tasks | Clean and ready rooms for nexts guests, keep laundry going while cleaning. |
Morning Host
Host breakfast time and connect with guests. This positions requires an outgoing disposition, patience, the ability to see the best in others, conversation skills, and a willingness to listen and learn. No cooking experience needed but a little food appreciation is important.
| Time Period | Typically 6:40am-9:40am. Shifts can be shorter when guests are all finished with breakfast early. No shifts when Inn is empty. |
| Tasks | Get bread into oven, make coffee, fill food containers, make granola, connect and chat with guests, make sure their questions are answered and they have everything they need. |
Afternoon Host
Just a quick check-in with small tasks. Can be done by House Keeping after a shift or a good fit for a live-in employee or residency.
| Time Period | Typically 30 minutes. Between 2pm and 5pm |
| Tasks | Keep laundry and dish washer going if busy, make sure there are no big messes or cleaning up needed around the inn. Greet any guests who may be around. Check the daily Reminders list to see if any jobs are overlooked. |
Evening Host
Just a quick check-in with small tasks. Can be done by House Keeping after a shift or a good fit for a live-in employee or residency.

| Tasks | Keep laundry and dish washer going if busy, make sure there are no big messes or cleaning up needed around the inn. Mix bread for tomorrow morning if not already done by Afternoon Host. Set ovens to turn on for tomorrow morning. Check the daily Reminders list to see if any jobs are overlooked. Lock front door. |
